Another successful Grand Designs Live for Balcony

Grand Designs Live 2015 at Birmingham’s NEC proved to be another very successful event for Balcony Systems with high levels of enquiries keeping the team busy on the stand throughout the four days.

Strong interest was shown by self-builders, as well as architects and building professionals, in the company’s market-leading range of clear glass and aluminium balustrades, affordable Juliet balconies and stunning curved sliding patio doors that transform all types of properties.

Many enquirers also brought along plans for their own ‘Grand Design’ to discuss quotations with Balcony’s staff. Visitors also welcomed the opportunity to see the balustrading and curved doors at first hand, as well as pose some interesting questions!

‘Is your glass balustrading suitable for a koala bear enclosure?’ was one of the more unusual queries received by the sales team.

“Of course, the answer’s yes!” explains Balcony’s sales consultant Bill. “Because our glass panels are wider than the marsupials’ arm span used in tree climbing, they can be safely constrained by the clear balustrade. With no clamps or clips holding the glass in place, there is nothing for koalas to cling onto, plus they get a great view!

“The glass is easy to keep clean and no silicone is needed, making the balustrade an ideal choice for this novel type of project,” adds Bill, who is following up the ‘bear’ facts with the enquirer.

Balcony Systems was the most prominent balustrading company at the show, demonstrating that its balustrading, curved patio door and decking solutions are suitable for a wide variety of projects – whatever their size.
