Balconette’s aftersales service was ‘superb’

Ordering a Balconette balustrade and fitting it yourself is “quite straightforward”, according to one customer in East Sussex who self-installed nearly 12 metres of Balconette’s Aerofoil System glass balustrade as part of a garden refurbishment project.

The homeowner fitted the glass balustrade, with its wing-shaped handrail in a Royal Chrome anodised finish, in several days. The barrier protects a three-foot drop from a new raised composite decking area with a hot tub at his home in St Leonards-on-Sea.

Keen to find a balustrading supplier in his local area, he researched several companies explaining: “I wanted glass to keep the views and looked at two or three. I called one company that I didn’t find very useful. Then I came across Balconette’s number and the guy on the telephone was very helpful, so I stuck with them.”

Visiting Balconette’s showroom an hour’s drive from their home where they could view the Aerofoil and Orbit balustrade systems helped to seal their decision.

“We particularly liked and chose the Aerofoil one. The project was a blank canvas, so we had a free choice on which system we wanted and that was the one. We just thought it looked neater and we ordered it there and then.

“The CAD team was very helpful, and the whole ordering process was quite straightforward. Obviously, the drawings had to go backwards and forwards a couple of times to get them exactly right. But once that was done, everything fitted together. I think it’s a very easy system to use.”

He praised Balconette’s aftersales service for their swift action in rectifying an issue with a small dent in one of the handrails, explaining: “I emailed them a picture and within three days a replacement handrail was on my doorstep. So, the aftersales service was superb.”

Concluding on the final result, he says: “Aesthetically, I just think the balustrade finishes it off nicely. Of course, with grandchildren it acts as a safety barrier, the glass keeps the open views to the coast and it’s also a wind shield from sea breezes.”
