In November 2021, we expanded what we can offer to trade professionals in terms of service and personalised incentives – we already delivered sophisticated and bespoke balustrading solutions to our trade customers, but we understood that we needed to have a tailored trade service that matched that same level of quality provided by the product.

We can assist trade professionals with transforming their client’s concepts into completed designs with our innovative products that effortlessly enhance both residential and commercial properties, but we can also assist trade professionals to complete these jobs in a more seamless way than ever before and at a cost-effective price.

We have thought deliberately about what we can offer to our trade customers and have established key incentives that will provide them with the highest level of service, quality product training and additional trade-only concessions. An account is set up between Balconette and the trade customer, which is the first step to building a valued and prosperous working relationship. The account is personalised to the needs and requirements of the individual and their company from credit and payment plans to product training.

Bespoke credit limit and payment terms

After your application has been approved, a tailored credit account and personalised payment plan are established to suit the needs of you and your company. Leading with a flexible and collaborative approach, we enable our trade customers to order products without needing to make an upfront payment but instead pay in accordance with their customised payment plan, which crucially relives the immediate expenditure on their business.

A detailed history of quotes, orders and invoices are compiled in one convenient place ready for you to view at any time. This administration tool enables you to be untroubled about losing separate pieces of paper or keeping an independent record of jobs as it will all be collated for you, enabling you to get on with what you do best.

Design and order balustrades online with a 3D designer tool

The confident and trained customer would be able to utilise our 3D designer tool to create made-to-order balustrades to suit the needs of their client, without any assistance from our technical team. After an order has been designed and placed, the user will be able to download PDFs of section and elevation drawings of their designs containing all the system’s dimensions and measurements.

This online designer tool promotes autonomy of the trade customer, empowering them to take control of the designing process and reduce the number of steps taken before their product is manufactured. Furthermore, by using our online design module the trade customer would purchase their balustrade at a reduced rate since their designs are not assigned to the technical department and do not need to go through various stages of technical approval. The 3D tool is also dynamic meaning that any changes made to the balustrade system will be reflected in the displayed price – this benefits the trade customer with complete independence to assess how extras or changes in the design affect the price without needing to discuss with our in-house departments.

For those trade customers looking to gain a new valuable skill and minimise the length of the ordering process, they are encouraged to take our Balconette University training courses on our 3D designer tool, enabling them to design and sign off their own drawings before manufacture. One of the overriding benefits of using our 3D designer tool is that it minimises the order process steps and therefore time between concept to completion. When using the 3D designer tool, the ordering process becomes shorter since the trade customer will be able to approve their own drawings and will not need to complete repetitive questionnaires, technical interviews, and going back and forth with drawing revisions. In comparison, once the trade customer approves and orders their own drawings, the order bypasses the technical department and is sent directly to the manufacturing team to build your vision.

We offer a selection of different delivery types depending on the customers’ budget and the service that they require. Our delivery options range from self-collection to our premium direct delivery where you can choose a specific timeslot and we assign a single driver to drive directly to your property with your goods. Our trade accounts offer a brilliant opportunity for trade customers who wish to improve their knowledge of Balconette’s products, range, and options. Our tutorials and training sessions are created with the intention of making the student an expert on all thing’s balustrading. Alongside these training sessions, the trade customer will be able to receive ongoing assistance from our team and technical support on all our systems – simultaneously improving knowledge and building a strong rapport with our in-house departments.

Who can have a trade account?

Our Trade Affiliate Programme is a free service that is available to all trade individuals or companies who have their own customer base and have the potential of bringing return business to Balconette. Some of the types of trade personnel include but are not limited to: builder, decking company, property developer, designer, building contractor, architect or loft conversion company, etc. Trade customers must also be located within the UK to be able to benefit from this resource.

Our credit and payment plans are subject to approval after a credit check has been issued by our finance department. If a credit limit cannot be agreed upon, you are still welcome to have a trade account and make the most of our other account benefits and wait until the next fiscal year to apply for personalised credit and payment plans again.

Another benefit of our trade account is that our trade customers have the freedom to order with us whenever they choose to, and they can order as little or as much as they like since they are not governed by any order quotas. There is no need to market our product and trade customers are entitled to buy from other companies in addition to ours. These trade accounts are perfect for individuals who are making repeated trade purchases and will use Balconette’s products regularly.

This all sounds great, but how do I sign up for a trade account?

First things first, you will need to go onto our website homepage and select the hyperlink ‘Sign In’ at the top right-hand corner which will take you to a page asking you to either ‘Sign In’ or ‘Create Account’, follow through with your sign in details if you already have a Balconette My Account login or create one as necessary. Once you have signed in or created an account, your account homepage will allow you to access the entire history of your quotations, orders, and invoices. When you are within My Account area, you will be able to select the ‘Trade Account’ button and from there you can view and fill out the trade account application form. The form will request your company information, credit history and two trade references. During this trade application, you will also be able to set up a direct debit mandate.

Once you have completed and submitted the application form, our finance department will review your application and be in touch via email within 48 to 72 hours to share your credit limit and payment terms (subject to approval).
